Why your website does not generate leads: 7 reasons and how to fix them

You launched ads, people visit your website — and leave without sending a request. Most of the time the problem is not the advertising but the website itself. Here are the seven reasons we see most often and how to fix them.
1. The site loads slowly
Most visitors arrive on a phone over mobile data. If a page takes more than a few seconds to open, some of them close it before they ever see your offer. Test the site in Google PageSpeed Insights, compress images and remove unnecessary scripts and plugins.
2. The first screen does not say what you offer
A visitor has a few seconds to understand what this is, who it is for and why they should stay. The headline should name the service and the benefit, with a clear call-to-action button next to it.
3. The site is awkward on a phone
Tiny text, buttons that are hard to tap, horizontal scrolling — all of these kill leads. Walk the customer journey on your own smartphone, from the first screen to submitting the form.
4. There is no proof you can be trusted
People need evidence: case studies with numbers, reviews from real clients, photos of your work and team, logos of companies you have worked with. Without it, even a strong offer sounds like a promise.
5. The form is too complicated
Every extra field reduces the number of leads. For a first contact, a name and a phone number are enough. Everything else can be clarified in conversation.
6. There is no convenient way to get in touch
Some people prefer a call, others Telegram, WhatsApp or Viber. Let people choose the channel that suits them and you will get more enquiries — and the conversation will start where the customer feels comfortable.
7. The ad promises one thing and the site shows another
If the ad says “20% off your first order” and the page does not mention it, the visitor leaves. The landing page must continue the message of the ad.
Where to start
- Connect analytics (Google Tag Manager and GA4) and track form submissions.
- See which pages and devices people leave from most often.
- Fix one problem at a time and compare the results before and after.
Often a few targeted changes are enough for the same traffic to bring noticeably more leads. If you like, we can audit your website and tell you where to start.
